Outreach and Victim Services
NONE, BUT THE RIGHTEOUS (NBR) is a collaboration serving low-income, Black churchwomen who have been victims of sexual assault. Our goal is to provide outreach and victim services to Black churchwomen in the southern sector of Dallas County.
There's only ONE rape crisis center serving the entirety of Dallas County
Dallas County has a robust network of domestic violence advocacy organizations that provide shelter, transitional housing, case management, legal help, and other victim support services; however, there is only ONE RAPE CRISIS CENTER SERVING THE ENTIRETY OF DALLAS COUNTY, providing supportive services for victims who require both counseling and education after sexual assault. Below is a partial listing of the number of resources dedicated to victims of domestic violence; and, the type of community where the resource is physically/geographically located, i.e. the proximity of those services to applicant organization’s 75215 zip code and the low-income neighborhoods of our project’s target population of Black churchwomen who local congregations, faith communities and houses of worship are in Dallas County’s southern sector.
Black churchwomen within 75215 are underserved when it comes to sexual assault. The Mount plans to change that!
Black churchwomen who have experienced (or witnessed) sexual assault but remain silent about their experiences have an “untold story.” NONE, BUT THE RIGHTEOUS will help these sisters see that silence is an option and also a personal choice they have a right to make, but at what costs? While the rejection of the label “victim” and victimization is the reason why many Black churchwomen don’t talk about sexual assault, the presumption that such silence equates to survival is problematic. NONE, BUT THE RIGHTEOUS will use a celebratory event to physically commemorate when the women participating in the program actually self-identify a specific path to their own healing and restoration, thereby communicating that becoming a survivor is not just the option to keep silent, but also the empowerment to bear witness that wholeness has been reached.

None, But The Righteous 8-Dimensions of Wellness®
Our 36-month NONE, BUT THE RIGHTEOUS program will model the 8-Dimensions of Wellness® with one extremely significant modification in respect to the religious minority of Black church women—the spiritual dimension is the center of wellness, i.e. restorative/spiritual justice leading to a journey of wholeness and as her center, her local church should intersect with and overlap all the other dimensions of her life.
